PHOTO: Consul General to Calgary Gilberto Asuque invited the Filipino community to give their support for the civic and charitable projects of Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP), especially the Walk for Calgary, as a way of helping improve the lives of poor families in developing countries.

Consul General Asuque spoke at the Mother’s Day Celebration on 11 May 2019 organized by the Couples for Christ (CFC) North B Cluster as a fund raising event to support ANCOP Canada, a registered Canadian non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to alleviate poverty through a holistic community development program that includes shelter/housing, education, livelihood training, health and values formation.

ANCOP Canada has presence in 14 countries with major charitable works in the Philippines. Its main fund raising project is the 2019 ANCOP Walk to be held in 20 locations including Calgary that will be held on 17 August 2019 at the Eau Claire Plaza and Bow River Pathway.

The Consul General congratulated ANCOP International president Bro. Ricky Cuenca, who made a presentation during the event, and the CFC North B Cluster for the launch of the fund raising program. (Calgary PCG photo)
