PH Consulate General in Calgary Completes Counting of Overseas Votes

PHOTO: The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary has completed the counting of overseas votes in its jurisdiction for the 2019 Senatorial and Party List Elections.

The Consulate General’s Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI), headed by SBEI Chairperson Zaldy Patron, led the counting of votes which started at 4:00 a.m. of 13 May 2019, synchronized with the start of the counting of votes in the Philippines.

During the 30-day period of postal voting which started on 13 April 2019, the Consulate General mailed ballots to 4,341 registered overseas Filipino voters and received 1,104 ballots for a voter turnout of 25.43 percent.

The election returns generated by the Consulate General’s vote counting machine will be delivered to the Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) based at the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa for canvassing. (Calgary PCG photo)
