PH Consulate General in Hong Kong Gives Support to PH Participants in Asia’s Leading Food, Trade Show

HONG KONG 18 May 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, led by Consul General Antonio A. Morales, provided support to Philippine exhibitors to the Asia’s leading food and hospitality trade show or HOFEX held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 07 to 10 May 2019.
Hong Kong’s HOFEX has been upholding the tradition of excellence and taking visitors on extraordinary culinary journeys all over the world.
Out of an estimated 2,800 exhibitors, three Philippine-based companies and distributors participated in HOFEX to cater to over 42,000 trade buyers from all over the world gathered at the trade show.
Tanduay Distillers Inc., manufacturer of Tanduay rum, is featured prominently at the International Wine and Spirits Section in Hong Kong. The Pro Wine Asia showcases a complete range of wine, spirits, sake, whisky and champagne that would appeal to wine connoisseurs all over Asia.
The Retail Asia Conference & Expo (RACE) is also co-located at the HOFEX for the very first time to showcase very revolutionary products and technologies.
Mr. Luis Senn, representing the LTB Philippine Chefs Association, was among the Rookie Judges at the Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2019.
The Globalinens Worldwide Inc., with its five factories in the Philippines, the largest of which is in Cabuyao, Laguna, manufactures quality linens for bed, mattress, duvet infills, comforters, pillows, among others. The Globalinens supplies its products to prominent companies such as SMDC, AyalaLand, Robinsons Lan Corporation, Megaworld Hotels and resorts such as, Marriot, The Peninsula, and Manila Hotel. It plans to expand its business in Singapore.
The Staff Ice System, another Philippine-based company, is a distributor of gelato and pastry machines made in Italy. The company is on the market of cold equipment and produces a wide range of ice maker equipment in cubes, flake ice, and ice cream machines. END

The Consulate representatives also visited the Staff Ice System’s booth. The Philippine-based company is a distributor of a wide range of ice maker equipment in cubes, flake ice, and ice cream machines. The gelato pastry and machines are designed to produce, display, preserve fresh gelato from the batch-freezer right to the customer with the goal to attract the clients with the amazing volume and consistency of its gelato.
