05 March 2014 – Thirty-seven (37) Filipinos from Syria will arrive in Manila on Friday, March 07 at 4:00 p.m., on board Emirates Airlines flight EK 332.
Upon their arrival, the number of Filipinos repatriated from war-torn Syria will reach 5,249. Of that number, 2,222 were repatriated via Lebanon, with the assistance of the Philippine Embasy in Beirut.
The airfare of this latest batch of repatriates was shouldered by the International Organization for Migration.
The Philippine Embassy in Damascus continues to remind the Filipino community in Syria to avail of the Philippine Government’s Mandatory Repatriation Program (MRP). It also sought the help of individual members in informing other Filipinos in Syria, especially in the Damscus area, of the MRP.
The Department of Foreign Affairs continues to appeal all Filipinos who are still in Syria to seek immediate repatriation.
