PH Embassy in Brasilia Brings Consular Services to Filipinos in Colombia

BOGOTÁ 22 May 2019 — As part of its mandate to deliver consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia provided consular services to Filipinos in Bogotá, Colombia on 05 May 2019.

A total of 31 consular services were rendered, 23 of which were passport renewal applications.

Around 140 Filipinos are estimated to be living and working in Colombia. Despite their small number, Filipinos are highly regarded by Colombian society because of their honesty, good work ethics, and industry. 

The majority of Filipinos in Colombia are residents, while a sizeable number are gainfully employed as engineers, support technicians in multinational companies like Nokia and professors in universities. The remainder belong to religious missionaries, while some are self-employed. END
