PH Embassy in Canberra Highlights the Importance of Youth in PHL-AUS Friendship Day

CANBERRA 22 May 2019 – In celebration of Philippines-Australia Friendship Day on 22 May 2019, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra highlights the importance of today’s youth in building and strengthening bridges between the Philippines and Australia.
Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega said, “I recall my engagement with young delegates of the Australia-ASEAN Youth Forum in Adelaide, South Australia, who were keen to have a deeper appreciation of Australia’s relations with the Philippines. My exchanges with them affirmed my belief that the youth play an important role in nurturing the friendship between the Philippines and Australia.”
As part of this celebration, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra will also shine the light on Filipino student organizations all over Australia who promote Filipino culture and heritage as the Philippines’ youth ambassadors. The campaign will be launched in the Embassy’s official website (@PHinAustralia).
The Embassyencourages everyone to share their stories of friendship with the hashtag #FilAussieDay on 22 May 2019 to take part in Philippines-Australia Friendship Day. END
