The Hague  meeting with Filcom

06 March 2014- The new Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands, Jaime Victor B. Ledda, met with leaders of the Filipino community at a “Meet and Greet” event organized by the Philippine Embassy in The Hague on February 21.

The Ambassador informed the leaders that one of the priorities of the Embassy for the year is to reach out to the various Filipino communities in the 12 provinces of the Netherlands through consular outreach and community activities with the local Filipino community organizations.

The leaders warmly welcomed the initiative and said that they will actively cooperate with the Embassy in organizing the activities.

Ambassador Ledda also briefed the gathering on the upcoming activities of the Embassy such as the submission of nominations for the 2014 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas and the Registration for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV).

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to thank the leaders for the assistance extended by the members of the Filipino community for the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).  He commended them for the volunteerism and spirit of “bayanihan” exhibited by various Filipino organizations in coming up with activities to raise funds for the victims.
