PH Honorary Consulate in Guadalajara Joins in Int’l Gastronomic Festival

GUADALAJARA 28 May 2019 — In line with the celebration of the Filipino Food Month or Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino, the Philippine Embassy in Mexico said that the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Guadalajara participated in 42nd La Feria Internacional Gastronómica (FIGA), an International Gastronomic Festival on 07 April 2019 at the Center of International Friendship in Guadalajara, Jalisco State in Mexico.

FIGA is an event that brings together the civil society of Guadalajara and more than 40 countries to showcase their food culture, and arts. The festival was a fundraiser for four civil institution of social benefit namely, Foundation Adrea de Occidente, A.C., End of Slavery, A.C., Be Free, and Social Programs of the DIF.


The Philippine Honorary Consulate booth was supported by Sister Noemi, a Filipino nun from the Daughters of the Divine Celus, who prepared typical Filipino dishes such as pancit, adobo and lumpia, which was enjoyed and praised by the attendees.

The Consulate also participated in a fashion show, presenting Filipino dresses. There was also a raffle where the Consulate gave away a capiz frame donated by the Embassy. END
