PH Consulate General in Chicago Joins 29th Skokie Festival of Cultures
PHOTO: The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago joins the 29th Annual Skokie Festival of Cultures held at the Oakton Park, Illinois on 18 May 2019.
Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen welcomes different countries that joins the outdoor event which includes two days of ethnic folk music and dance, unique arts and crafts and more than 30 cultural booths and displays to experience the many cultures, languages and traditions that make up the Skokie community.
The Filipino-American community was represented for this event in Skokie as part of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration in May. The booth featured a display of Philippine arts and crafts, Philippine tourism and information materials that helped to promote the country’s rich cultural heritage to the mainstream American audience.
