PH Ambassador to Jordan Leads ASEAN Courtesy Call in Foreign Ministry
PHOTO: In his capacity as Chair of the ASEAN Group in Amman this year, Ambassador to Jordan Akmad A Sakkam (third from left) facilitated the first ever courtesy call on the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Director for Asia and the Pacific Dr. Malek Twal, together with the new Ambassador of Brunei to Jordan on 15 May 2019.
The courtesy call on Director Twal, who is the former Ambassador of Jordan to Brazil and a seasoned national politician, covered areas of his previous engagements with individual ASEAN Member States, including parallel dimensions between the ASEAN and the Arab League.
Director Twal concurred with the ASEAN Ambassadors that there remain many opportunities for gainful cooperation between the Arab League and ASEAN, as well between Jordan and individual Member States, such as the Aqaba Process Meeting (APM) which will be hosted by the Philippines later this year, the first ever APM in Southeast Asia.
Ambassador Sakkam also presented Director Twal the ASEAN coffee table book. (Amman PE photo)
