China Int’l Fair for Investvent Trade Organiners Conduct Roadshow in PH

Xiamen City 30 May 2019 – In preparation for the 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) on 08 -11 September 2019, the CIFIT organizing committee conducted a four-day Roadshow in the Philippines on 21-24 April 2019.

The CIFIT organizing committee, led by CIFIT Organizing Committee-Liaison Department deputy director and Xiamen Municipal Convention and Exhibition Bureau director general Joeven Wang, met with various Philippine government agencies and business groups/chambers to discuss the three big platforms of CIFIT and proposed that the Philippines be the 2020 CIFIT’s Guest Country of Honor.

As CIFIT’s Guest County of Honor, the Philippines will attract more investment opportunities and global capital.

For his part, Trade and Industry Undersecretary Perry Rodolfo expressed interest in the proposal and will endeavor to integrate relevant resources of the Department of Trade and Industry-Board of Investments to prepare for the country’s participation as Guest Country of Honor in the 2020 CIFIT.

The committee extended invitations for both the Philippine public and private sectors to participate in the CIFIT and learn how to integrate the resources of the CIFIT to boost China-Philippines bilateral investment and trade cooperation.

The various business chambers from Manila and Cebu that met with the CIFIT Team recognized the importance of CIFIT as a platform to further strengthen economic cooperation between the Philippines and China.

The team proceeded to Indonesia and Thailand to continue the promotion and presentation of the 2019 CIFIT following the visit to the Philippines. END
