07 March 2014- Ambassador Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo presented his credentials to Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid on February 25, formalizing his designation as the Philippines’ official envoy to Bangladesh.

Ambassador Bandillo apprised President Hamid of developments relating to the agreements between the Philippines and Bangladesh on Visa and Sports, which had been slated for signing this month.  The Ambassador added that he is looking forward to actively implementing the recently signed agreement on culture and to push for more trade and investment between the two countries, especially with the planned joint consultation’s signing and initial meeting this year.  Both officials also agreed that direct air links between the two countries would be good for the growth of cultural and economic exchange.

Ambassador Bandillo made sure to convey the Philippines’ gratitude for Bangladesh’s assistance during the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda and for the support given to the Philippines in the recent International Maritime Organization (IMO) election. END
