OTTAWA 06 June 2019 — Philippine Embassy in Ottawa’s Minister Alan Deniega and Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik, and the Heads of Mission from Asia Pacific countries or their representatives participated in the Asia Pacific Queen’s Ambassadors’ Forum held on 31 May 2019 at the University Club of Queen’s University in Kingston.
Queen’s University's Smith School of Business associate professor David Detomasi led the discussions on the new international trade order. Prior to the forum, Interim Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Tom Harris hosted lunch for Professor Detomasi and the Heads of Missions of the Asia Pacific Group of Ambassadors.
The Queen’s Ambassadors’ Forum was first organized in 2003 by Professor Hok-Lin Leung of Queen’s University. Since then, two fora are organized each year – one in spring and another in the fall – which cover relevant political or economic issues of the day.
The Group is composed of the heads of mission from 19 countries in the Asia Pacific, which have resident diplomatic missions in Ottawa. Ambassador to Canada Petronila P. Garcia is the Regional Dean of the Asia Pacific group. END
