PH Embassy in Mexico Commemorates National Heritage Month 2019

PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Mexico concluded its month-long celebration of National Heritage Month celebration on 31 May 2019.

Commemorative activities at the Embassy included the display of Philippine cultural heritage treasures such as the “Igorot” traditional dress of the Cordillera Region, capiz lamps and traditional pots, as well as a photo exhibit featuring UNESCO declared World Heritage sites, namely Philippine Baroque churches (1993), the historic town of Vigan (1999), the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River (1999), and the Banaue Rice Terraces (1995).  Looped videos of traditional Filipino games like “tumbang preso,” “patintero,” “luksong baka,” and “piko” were also shown at the Embassy’s Consular Section.
