PH Embassy in The Hague Features PH Indigenous Fabrics in National Heritage Month 2019
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in The Hague celebrated 2019 National Heritage Month for the month of May 2019 featuring fabrics from the country’s indigenous tribes.
In close partnership with members of The Hague-based Filipino community organization from the Cordillera, MABIKAs Foundation-The Netherlands, headed by Myra Colis, and member June Fabian, a select collection of handwoven products from the Cordillera region of the Igorots were displayed at the public-receiving area of the Embassy’s Consular section.
To further showcase the significance of this month-long event, the official videos of this year’s observance of National Heritage Month received from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) featuring NCCA’s Heritage Month Ambassador Ogie Alcasid and the 2019 winning entry for amateur videographers, "Our Precious Heritage" by Team Golez of Naga in Camarines Sur, on heritage conservation and promotion and care for Philippine heritage, ran continuously during hours of consular services to the public.
