10 March 2014- The Hong Kong Flower Show 2014 opened on March 7, 2014 at the Victoria Park in Hong Kong.  The Philippines was represented by the Knights of Rizal whose exhibit featured hanging orchids, as well as a scenery of the sailing bancas (native Philippine boats).

Despite the rainy weather during the opening day, visitors flocked the event including children who painted the various flowers on display. 

Sixteen (16) countries namely, the Philippines, Australia, Belgium, China, Estonia, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and United States participated this year.  The show’s programme of activities will also include a performance by the Philippine Cultural Academy on March 9, 2014.

The Hong Kong Flower Show is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong and will run until March 16, 2014. END
