Sweet Victory for PH Chocolate in 2019 Academy of Chocolate Awards

LONDON 18 June 2019 — Five Philippine chocolate brands harvested a total of 24 awards across various categories in the 2019 Academy of Chocolate Awards.

Auro Chocolate, Dalareich Food Products, Malagos Agri-Ventures Corporation, MS3 Agri-Ventures, and Theo and Philo Artisan Chocolates impressed more than 100 expert judges who make up the panel.  This year’s board of judges include leading chocolatiers and some of United Kingdom’s most prominent food writers and bloggers. 

“The recognition given to Philippine chocolates over the years shows that Philippine chocolates are indeed world class,” said Ambassador to the UK Antonio M. Lagdameo. 

Over a thousand entries from close to 50 countries were marked for appearance, depth of aroma and flavor, length, and complexity over a rigorous 25 session judging process stretching for 12 weeks.

“Purity and sustainability of ingredients remain paramount considerations for the Academy,” said board member and awards ambassador Marie-Pierre Moine.

The Academy of Chocolate awards was launched in 2005 and is considered the Oscar Awards for chocolates.

Below is a summary of the awards won by the different Philippine chocolate brands this year:

Auro Chocolate won one Gold Award in the Drinking Chocolate-Plain, for Milk Based Drinks category for its 100% Unsweetened Chocolate. It also won two Silver Awards and seven Bronze Awards for its other products. 

Theo and Philo Artisan Chocolates won one Gold Award in Drinking Chocolate – Plain, for Water Emulsion category for its Dark Hot Chocolate. It also won one Silver Award, and five Bronze Awards for its other products.

Dalareich Food Products won one Gold Award in Drinking Chocolate – Plain, for Milk-Based Drinks category for its Dalareich 100% Unsweetened Chocolate.

MS3 Agri-Ventures won one Silver Award in Drinking Chocolate, Flavoured category for its MS3 BONHOC with Cashew and Coffee Granules. It also won two Bronze Awards for its other products.

Malagos Agri-Ventures Corporation won three Bronze Awards for its products. END
