PH Honorary Consulates in Chittagong, Male, Colombo Meet at PH Embassy in Bangladesh

DHAKA 20 June 2019 — The Chiefs-of-Staff of the Philippine Consulates in Chittagong in Bangladesh, Malé in Maldives, and Colombo in Sri Lanka had their first Chiefs-of-Staff (COS) meeting with Philippine Embassy in Dhaka personnel at the Embassy on 11 June 2019.
The Consulates are headed by Honorary Consuls and are all under the jurisdiction of the Embassy.
The meeting focused on reviews of regulations in consular, visa, assistance-to-nationals and fiscal aspects of work at the Consulates. The meeting, aside from being an avenue for clarifications on both general and specific cases, also became an opportunity for the Chiefs of Staff to share their inputs and recommendations that could improve their service to Filipinos in their respective jurisdictions.
The Chiefs of Staff are Mr. Sheikh Habibur Rahman from Chittagong, Mr. Abdulla Adam from Malé and Mr. Borella Arachchige Nalin Suramya Perera from Colombo.
Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo welcomed the COS at the Embassy premises, while Third Secretary and Vice Consul LV I. De Guzman facilitated the meeting. END
