YANGON 26 June 2019 – Top Philippine universities participated in the Philippine Pavilion “Education Philippines” sponsored by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon at the first Myanmar Private and International Education Fair 2019 on 15-16 June 2019 at the Myanmar Expo in Yangon.
The Philippine universities who participated in MPIEF 2019 were the University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, Ateneo De Manila University, Central Philippines University and Jose Rizal University.
Myanmar is an emerging market for international students, as the recent lifting of sanctions has left a gap in the country's manpower resources with shortages in employees with university degrees and proper training. Since many Myanmar parents opt to have their children obtain their undergraduate and graduate degrees overseas, the Philippines is a good destination for education of Myanmar students.
Aside from Philippine universities offering world-class education and with English being the medium of instruction used in Philippine universities, Myanmar students will also be able to improve their level of English proficiency. There are currently more than 25,000 Myanmar students studying overseas.
A total of 51 universities and schools from 13 countries participated in MPIEF 2019. END
