17 March 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz paid a courtesy call on Lebanon’s new Minister of Information Ramzi Jreij last March 7, to convey her felicitations and best wishes on his appointment and to brief him on bilateral relations.

During her call, Ambassador Ruiz stressed one of the priorities of the Embassy, which is to protect the rights and promote the welfare of the almost 30,000 Filipinos in Lebanon. Both sides agreed to collaborate actively in highlighting to the Lebanese public the vibrant and multi-faceted aspects of the relationship between the two countries that has already spanned close to 70 years.
