PH Embassy in Oman Conducts Consular Outreach to Filipinos in Salalah

MUSCAT 28 June 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Oman conducted its Second Quarter Consular Outreach to the Filipino community in Salalah on 21 June 2019 at the Muscat International Hotel Plaza.
The Consular Outreach team processed 106 e-passport renewal applications, three Reports of Birth, four authentication of documents and 29 notarials, including National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearances. In addition, 31 overseas Filipinos were able to claim their new passports in Salalah.
The participation of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)-Muscat in the Consular Outreach also enabled 36 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to renew their membership in the Overseas Filipino Welfare Administrative (OWWA) and 12 employment contracts to be verified for the purpose of obtaining their Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs). POLO-Muscat also provided a Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for 18 newly arrived OFWs in Salalah.
Salalah is the second largest city in Oman, with an estimated population of 375,000. The Embassy, located 1,000 kilometers away in Muscat, endeavors to organize a Consular Outreach every quarter to service the needs of the estimated 10,000 Filipinos residing in Salalah. END
