17 March 2014 - Members of the Philippine Judo team namely, Ms. Monica Pineda and Ms. Helen Dawa, won respectively the silver (under 45 kilograms category) and bronze (under 48 kilograms category) medals at the 2014 Hong Kong International Judo Tournament held at the Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon from March 1 to 2.

The 11-member delegation was composed of team manager,  Shalimar Tamano, seven players from the Philippine National Team and three young athletes from La Salle Greenhills.

Judo teams from the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Hong Kong competed in this year’s tournament.  PLDT-Hong Kong Ltd. was one of the Philippine Judo Team’s sponsors. END
