PH Embassy in Rome Holds Consular Outreach in Sicily

ROME 03 July 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted its third Sicily Consular Outreach in Catania, Sicily’s second-largest city after Palermo on 22-23 June 2019.
The Embassy processed 237 passports, 20 Reports of Birth, two Reports of Marriage, 22 affidavits, and eight certifications. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration served 15 and 48 clients, respectively, while the Social Security System catered to 74 clients.
The Philippine Consulate in Palermo, headed by Honorary Consul Antonino Di Liberto, rendered notarial services during the outreach.
The City of Catania provided the historic Palazzo della Cultura, Catania’s cultural center and seat for civil weddings, as the outreach venue.
The island region of Sicily hosts the largest Filipino concentration in southern Italy, estimated at around 4,480 people. END
