The Filipino community in Halifax, the capital of the province of Nova Scotia on the Atlantic side of Canada, celebrated the first Filipino Heritage Month in Canada.

The celebration started with a parade around Citadel Hill in the downtown area and was followed by a cultural program that included performances of traditional Filipino songs and dances and concluded with a concert by Filipino entertainers and bands at the Halifax Forum.
