Filipino Culinary Arts’ Group in Jeddah Graduates 43 New Filipino Chefs, Gives OFWs Hope for a Second Career Option

JEDDAH 08 July 2019 – Forty-three Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) with regular day jobs in Jeddah received their certificates as new chefs and bakers after undergoing three months of training in the culinary arts and baking from the International Center for Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management (ICCAHM).

The awarding of certificates took place on 28 June 2019, during the seveth Commencement Exercises of ICCAHM. Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang represented the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, and urged the graduates to use their additional skills and credentials in their search for more alternative careers in or outside Saudi Arabia.

The Consulate General also commended the ICCAHM for giving OFWs in Jeddah a second career option. Consul General to Jeddah Edgar B. Badajos said that their culinary certificate gives the graduates alternative career options in the restaurant, catering, and bakery business

ICCAHM is an all-Filipino chef-run institution that provides training in the culinary arts and hospitality management to Filipinos in Saudi Arabia who wish to develop or enhance their skills in the culinary arts. END
