Consul General to Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin met with World Business Chicago President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andrea L. Zopp, and Deputy Director General Adrienne Tongate of the Chicago Sister Cities International, an initiative of World Business Chicago.

During the meeting, both sides expressed openness to collaborate on economic and cultural initiatives, including exploring possible sister-city arrangements between Chicago and a counterpart city in the Philippines, such as Manila and Baguio City.

Consul General Jamoralin shared the good news about the Philippine economy, and recalled the rich historical and cultural ties between Chicago and the Philippines. She recalled that the eminent Chicago-based architect Daniel Burnham spearheaded the planning of Manila and Baguio City, the summer capital in northern Philippines during the American administration in the Philippines in 1904.
