PH Ambassador Promotes Trade, Investment Opportunities in the PH at Centre For Peace, Security and Development Studies

ISLAMABAD 10 July 2019 — To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Philippine-Pakistan dplomatic relations, Centre for Peace, Security and Development Studies (CPSD) on 25 June 2019 invited the Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel R. Espiritu as a Chief Guest Speaker to brief its board members, diplomatic community and business sector on the “70 Years of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Pakistan and Prospects Future of Cooperation.”
Ambassador Espiritu took this opportunity to highlight the Philippines’ and Pakistan’s close and cordial ties since the establishment of the bilateral relations between the two countries in 1949, which were evident in the high-level exchanges and economic agreements signed by both countries.
The speech was followed by a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the Philippines' vibrant economy and the government's top socio-economic development priority through its Build Build Build Agenda.
The Ambassador further briefed the audience on how Philippines continues to attain a gross domestic product (GDP) of above 6 percent, despite having big trade deficit by focusing equally on investment promotions, remittances and business process outsourcing (BPO).
CPSD Chairman Abdullah Dadabhoy and Secretary General Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi presented plaque of appreciation to Ambassador Espiritu and Philippine Honorary Consul General in Karachi Dr. Imran Y. Muhammad. An official cake cutting ceremony was also held at the end of the event. END
