21 March 2014 - Second generation Filipino Romulo Emanuel “Re” Salvador is featured as co-
lead actor in the documentary entitled “Il Futuro è Troppo Grande” (The Future is Too Big) directed by Giusy Buccheri and Michele Citoni.
Philippine Ambassador to Italy Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. formally graced the premiere of the documentary on March 13 at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila in Rome. Re and his family likewise joined the Ambassador in the film premiere.
The film is about Re and Zhanxing Xu (Chinese), two second generation children in Italy, as they recount their experiences about life: study and work, family and love, and their expectations in Italy today.
The documentary reflects on the second generation of immigrants in Italy. The film reveals two young people struggling with the problems of everyday life and some of their respective difficulties in integrating into Italian society.
Re lives with his parents and sister. He is working and studying in a university at the same time. He hopes to find fulfillment in the art of self-realization through dance.
Zhanxing, a graduate, lives alone. She is looking for a clear understanding of her identity, as she deals with her difficulties in obtaining Italian citizenship.
