PH Embassy in Canberra Serves Over 700 Filipinos in Consular Mission in Perth

PERTH 19 July 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Canberra completed a five-day mobile consular mission in Perth, Western Australia on 01 to 05 July 2019.
The mobile consular team processed 670 passport applications and administered the Oath of Allegiance of 62 Filipinos who reacquired their Filipino citizenship through Republic Act No. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003.
There are approximately 35,000 Filipinos in the State of Western Australia. The Embassy holds the mobile mission in Perth twice a year. Perth is over 3,000 kilometers away from Canberra.
The Embassy team was led by First Secretary and Consul Corina Reyes with consular assistants, Ruel Peñaflorida and Gloria Celis.
Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Canberra's Antonio Saquing was also present to provide updates on Philippine Overseas Employment Administration regulations to overseas Filipino workers in Perth.
The Embassy worked with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Perth, led by Consul Michael Gillis, to ensure an organized and productive consular mission. END
