PH Embassy in Ankara Renders Consular Services in Istanbul, Joins Filipino Community in Turkey Sportsfest 2019

ISTANBUL 19 July 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Ankara rendered consular services and served over 200 Filipinos in Istanbul, Turkey on 6 July 2019 and joined the Filipino Community in Turkey (FCT) on 07 July 2019 for a sportsfest.

The team rendered 108 ePassport services (55 passports renewed, 52 passports released and 1 passport extended); 34 Embassy IDs (20 Embassy ID applications and 14 Embassy IDs released), 23 notarizations, 3 civil registrations (2 Reports of Birth and 1 Report of Marriage) and 1 NBI application.

The team also attended the opening ceremonies of the FCT Sports Fest. Ambassador-designate to Turkey Raul S. Hernandez congratulated the event organizers on their initiative and hailed the solidarity, unity and spirit of sportsmanship among the teams participating in the Sports Fest.

The Embassy fielded a team and played a historic, first time basketball exhibition game against a selection of top players from four Istanbul-based Filipino basketball teams, which the Embassy won by a score of 80-61.

The Sports Fest will run for six weeks from 6 July 2019 to 25 August 2019, with round-robin games played among women’s volleyball teams and men’s basketball teams. The top volleyball and basketball teams will play final games on 25 August 2019. END
