Senator Poe Speaks at Los Angeles PH Women’s Club Event

Los Angeles 26 July 2019 – Senator Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares served as the guest of honor and keynote speaker at the Installation of the 2019-2020 Installation of Officers of The Los Angeles Philippine Women’s Club at the Capital Seafood Beverly Hills last 13 July 2019.
Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles Deputy Consul General Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III formally introduced Senator Poe during the celebration, which was attended by the club’s network of friends from other Filipino-American community, local government, business community and the media.
In her remarks, Senator Poe underscored the plethora of significant roles that women play in society. She commended all the female guests at the event, especially the hardworking women of The Los Angeles Philippine Women’s Club for their outstanding work in their respective fields and for their leadership and achievements in the global workplace and their local communities.
The Senator shared the various legislations she pioneered in Congress that ensure everyone, especially children, the access to quality education and proper nutrition such as the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act and the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act. She also highlighted the Freedom of Information Act, Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act, and the Extension of the Validity of Philippine Passports and Drivers License as her other significant legislations.
The club’s incoming president Trinity Foliente thanked the honorable senator for gracing their event. She assured the club of her commitment to maintain the legacy and pursue the advocacies of its club’s founders.
The Los Angeles Philippine Women’s Club was organized in February 1961 with the main objective of bringing together Filipino women in Los Angeles to promote education, cultural and philantrophic activities.
It is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs International, National Federation of Women’s Clubs Philippines and the California Federation of Women’s Clubs Los Cerritos District. END
