PH Consulate General in Los Angeles Pays Tribute to Overseas Filipino Nurses

LOS ANGELES 26 July 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, led by Consul Rea G. Oreta, participated in the 36th Grand Reunion of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC) Nursing Alumni Association Gala Night at the Knotts Berry Hotel in Buena Park, Orange County on 13 July 2019.
Over a hundred UERMMMC Nursing alumni members from different parts of the globe attended said gala, which was the summit of the Association’s three-day reunion.
In her remarks, Consul Oreta commended the Filipino nurses for their professionalism and dedication in serving Filipinos overseas, and acknowledged the hard sacrifices they make to uphold their sworn duty of saving lives. “The nursing profession is one of the most respected professions in our country, and the Filipino nurses, are one of the most sought-after medical professionals in the world”.
UERMMMC-Southern California Chapter is an accredited Filipino-American organization that provides medical care for underprivileged Filipinos through its annual medical missions.
Consul Oreta was accompanied during the event by Information Officer Mary Grace Leaño and Consular Assistant Edgardo Lim. END
