PH Embassy in Brunei Showcases Muslim Heritage at International Night Concert

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 30 July 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Brunei joined ASEAN diplomatic missions in rendering cultural performances during its annual mini concert entitled “International Night” on 20 July 2019, held at the open ground in front of the Royal Regalia Museum.
Sarjana Education Group, in collaboration with the Embassy, presented Philippine traditional Muslim dances such as pangalay, malong, tubao, kini-kini and sang the popular Filipino song Noong Unang Panahon.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs as a joint celebration for the 73rd birthday of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, the said event highlighted the exceptional heritage of ASEAN member countries which reflects the beauty of cultural diversity in Southeast Asia, and improves understanding on cross cultures to create harmony and unity among local and foreign communities.
The event was also held in celebration of the declaration of Bandar Seri Begawan as the Capital of Islamic Culture for Asia in 2019. The event included cultural presentations from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries. END
