24 March 2014 – The Filipino Investment Association in Lebanon (FIVA) installed their new set of officers by reciting their oath of office before Philippine Ambassador Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz last February 09, during simple ceremonies held at the Philippine Embassy Function Hall.

The Filipino Investment Association in Lebanon currently has 100 members, including its 19 newly-elected officers.  It was founded in 2006 in order to encourage its members to acquire entrepreneurial and business capabilities and the membership is open to all Filipinos working in the different parts of the country.

In her message after the induction ceremony, Ambassador Ruiz congratulated the officers and members of the organization and encouraged them to continue actively working towards the fulfillment of their mission and collaborating with the Embassy in promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of the Filipinos in Lebanon. Ambassador Ruiz also expressed her hope that they will continue to extend their support and cooperation as the Embassy planned to hold major cultural events for the year 2014. END
