MARSEILLE 07 August 2019 — As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Paris conducted its second consular outreach mission in Marseille on 20 to 21 July 2019 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Vieux Port.
Over 280 consular documents were processed and released during the outreach mission, including passports, notarials, certificates, as well as applications for dual citizenship and community cards.
Apart from the seven members of the consular team that traveled from Paris, an Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) representative from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Madrid in Spain, and the Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG representatives from Milan in Italy provided their respective services to the Filipinos residing in Marseille and nearby cities. A combined number of more than 230 applications were registered by the OWWA, SSS and Pag-IBIG.
Marseille, almost 800 kilometers away from the Embassy, has been a regular site for the Embassy’s regular consular outreach missions due to the large concentration of Filipinos in the area.
The Embassy intends to have another outreach mission in the south of France for 2019 and will continue to program this activity which benefits a large number of Filipinos in the years to come. END
