25 March 2014- The Philippine Embassy in Doha participated in ASEAN Family Day 2014 held at Barzan Park, Umm Salal last March 22.

The Embassy’s personnel and their families headed by Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Crescente R. Relacion and Mme. Meike Naomi L. Relacion trooped to the venue to join the families of personnel from the other ASEAN embassies in Doha.

Around 200 attended the day-long event.

In his remarks, ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) Chairman Brunei Ambassador Haji Nordin Bin Haji Ahmad announced the activities and tournaments lined up by the ACD for the whole year.  He urged everyone to participate actively in them as they are designed to further promote camaraderie among ASEAN embassies, their personnel and families. 

Embassy contingents enjoyed the team games of the Family Day.  They feasted upon the sumptuous dishes brought by each embassy for lunch.  

ACD since its establishment on December 12, 2011 has organized activities to foster camaraderie among the ASEAN Missions in Doha.  Currently, there are 7 ASEAN resident embassies in Doha, namely, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. END
