PH Embassy in Phnom Penh Reaches Out to Filipinos in Siem Reap and Poipet

PHNOM PENH 15 August 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh served a total of 99 Filipinos and rendered 124 consular services in Siem Reap and Poipet during its two-day consular outreach mission on 30-31 July 2019.
The Embassy, led by Vice Consul Frances Louissa Cleofas, offered Embassy I.D. issuance and renewal, passport renewal and passport extensions, civil registry (Report of Birth and Report of Marriage), and notarial services during the mission.
During the said missions, the Embassy also pilot-tested its Online Appointment System, which proved successful in shortening the waiting period of each client.
Filipinos who availed themselves of the consular services thanked the Embassy for conducting the mobile outreach saying that “mobile consular services are a great relief” and that it “saves time and money.” Other Filipinos commended the “professional, helpful and very fast service” afforded to them remarking that they were “very much impressed with the service” of the Embassy.
Siem Reap is six hours away by land travel from Phnom Penh, while Poipet is eight hours away from Phnom Penh by land. The Embassy regularly conducts a mobile outreach in said areas at least once a year. END
