NEW YORK 28 August 2019 — A total of 162 Filipino-American organizations, most of which sent representatives to the Fifth Filipino-American General Assembly held earlier this year, are listed in the third edition of the Filipino-American Community Directory launched and released by the Philippine Consulate General in New York on 31 July 2019.
The Directory serves as a tool for community leaders and members, civic volunteers, and organizations to build a database to develop linkages, synergy and collaboration. It is one of the outcome projects of the second General Assembly in 2016, which started with only 50 organizations registered with the Consulate General’s Cultural and Community Relations Section.
This year, the Consulate General encouraged Filipino-American organizations to accomplish the Organizational Profile Update Form and update their information on record with the Consulate General. The form is downloadable at the Consulate General’s website. Filipino-American organizations who wish to be included in its database are requested to accomplish the form and email it to //This email address is being protected from spambots. In his remarks during the launch, Consul General to New York Claro S. Cristobal underscored the importance of the Directory as a valuable resource for our kababayans to get connected with one another. He also encouraged the Filipino-American community organizations to make their presence known to the Consulate General and promised that those on the list will be given priority for information, announcements, notices, invitations and Consulate support to their events.
Copies of the directory were distributed during the event. Organizations which have not received copies are requested to pick up their copies, or send a flat-rate self-addressed and stamped envelope in order for the Consulate to send them their copies.
The directory was printed in partnership with Synergy Production & Marketing, Inc with the support of GMA Pinoy TV, Philippine Airlines-New York, and Fiesta in America. END
