PH Consul General in Chicago Engages with Kansas Officials

KANSAS 29 August 2019 – With the view of strengthening trade relations of the Philippines and Kansas, Consul General to Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin engaged Congressman Ronald Gene “Ron” Estes and Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell in a cordial meeting at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Wichita on 03 August 2019.
Consul General Jamoralin discussed with Congressman Estes, who represents Kansas’ 4th Congressional District, trade relations between the Philippines and Kansas particularly in the area of aviation industry and agriculture.
She also broached the readiness of the robust and skilled manpower sector of the Philippines for greater participation in the U.S.’ growing economy should it need to open more channels under its immigration system and extended an invitation for the Congressman to join the U.S.-Philippines Friendship Caucus to promote a platform for bipartisan discussion of mutually beneficial issues between the two countries.
The Consul General discussed with Mayor Longwell the possibility of expanding Wichita’s four sister-city partnerships by including a suitable city in the Philippines.
After their meeting, the two federal and local officials met with leaders and members of the Filipino American Association of Greater Wichita (FAAGW) with current president Rose Axman. END
