PH Consulate General in Chicago Holds Consular Outreach in Wichita

KANSAS 29 August 2019 – As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, led by Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, in partnership with the Filipino American Association of Greater Wichita (FAAGW), extends its consular services to 221 clients during the consular outreach in Wichita, Kansas on 3 August 2019.

The consular outreach, which was held at the Hampton Inn and Suites, provided e-passport, civil registration, notarization, and authentication services to 200 members of the Filipino-American community. The Consulate General also processed 21 applications for dual citizenship.

Led by its president Rose Axman, FAAGW served as volunteers who ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of operations and logistical activities. Clients who came from all over Kansas and neighboring states, expressed appreciation for the timely and responsive services provided by the Consulate General  with the support of FAAGW.

During the formal program to start the outreach, Consul Ryan Gener delivered remarks on behalf of Consul General Jamoralin on the 2nd Midwest Youth Leaders in Diaspora (YouLeaD II) Immersion Program slated for 03-09 January 2020 and open to Filipino-Americans from 18 to 25 years old, to rediscover their roots in the process of becoming future community leaders. He also invited the participants to the 1st Philippine Retirement Summit on 10 August 2019 at the Elston Place Market Mix Community Center in Chicago.  

Consul General Jamoralin also welcomed Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell and Kansas 4th District Representative Ron Estes to the event and explained to them how the outreach services were being conducted and also expressed appreciation to the officers and members of FAAGW for their invaluable contribution and tireless efforts to make the event a success. END
