KUALA LUMPUR 29 August 2019 – With the aim to promote the Philippines as an ideal leisure and Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) destination, the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, conducted a Sales Mission to Malaysia on 14 August 2019 at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Over 140 Malaysian businessmen participated in a slew of activities which included sales presentations, networking opportunities and business-to-business (B2B) activities for both segments of leisure and MICE.

In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Charles C. Jose pitched the Philippines both as a leisure and a MICE destination, highlighting the Philippine government’s Build Build Build program and focus on sustainable tourism.

“While we insist that it is still ‘more fun in the Philippines,’ it’s not just about fun.  You’ll get things done, and enjoy doing it,” he emphasized.

Also present were Tourism Marketing Director Dato Melissa Ong, TPB Acting Deputy Chief Operating Officer Arnold T. Gonzales, and 40 private sector partners from the Philippines.

During the event, raffle draws where also given to the participants. Prizes include vacation packages, hotel accommodations, amenities and airline tickets. END
