PH Ambassador to Turkey Presents Credentials to Turkish President

ANKARA 30 August 2019 – Ambassador to Turkey Raul S. Hernandez presented his credentials to Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Beştepe, Ankara on 22 August 2019.
Ambassador Hernandez conveyed the warm felicitations of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Filipino people to President Erdoğan and the Turkish people. He also thanked the President for extending hospitality to the more than 3,000 Filipinos living and working in Turkey.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhance bilateral relations to mark the 70th anniversary of Philippines-Turkey diplomatic relations this year.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hernandez and President Erdoğan also discussed several areas of cooperation in the fields of defense, economy and tourism, the peace process in Mindanao and the ASEAN-Turkey relations.
A wreath-laying ceremony at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the country’s founding father and first President, was conducted the following day.
Ambassador Hernandez is the ninth resident Philippine envoy to Turkey. END
