PH, Germany Agree to Form Joint Economic Committee

BERLIN 30 August 2019 – Trade and Industry Undersecretary Ceferino S. Rodolfo and Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) Parliamentary State Secretary (PSS) Thomas Bareiss signed the Joint Declaration of Intent Establishing the PH-DE Joint Economic Commission (JDI-JEC) at a simple ceremony at the BMWi headquarters in Berlin on 19 August 2019.
Undersecretary Rodolfo was joined by Ambassador to Germany Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega, Philippine Embassy in Berlin Deputy Chief of Mission Lillibeth V. Pono, First Secretary and Consul and Economic Officer Cathy Torres, Commercial Counselor Althea Antonio and her team at Philippine Trade and Investment Office-Berlin, and Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of International Trade Relations Trade and Industry Specialist Patrisha Estrella.
“The JEC provides an important platform to build on the momentum of more dynamic economic engagement between the Philippines and Germany as well as promoting greater synergy between our respective private sectors,” Ambassador Dizon-De Vega said. END
