Unique Beauty of PH, Korea, Thailand Music and Dance Showcased in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES 05 Auguat 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles attended a cultural performance dubbed “Spirit of Asia’ held at the Ari Hall of the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Los Angeles on 02 August 2019.
The cultural show, organized by the KCC to celebrate the diversity of Los Angeles’ Asian community and inspire new friendships by building bridges across cultures, featured three distinct suites of folk dances from the Philippines’ Kayamanan ng Lahi Philippine Folk Arts Los Angeles, Korea’s Jung Im Lee Dance Academy, and Thailand’s Wat Thai Los Angeles.
To showcase the richness and diversity of Philippine music and dances, Kayamanan ng Lahi performed the Pandango Sa Ilaw-Oasiwas, Jota Paragua, and Tinikling. Jung Im Lee represented Korean dance through its interpretation of the Crane Dance, Hwa Kwan Mu and Fan Dance. Wat Thai for its part, presented the beauty of Thailand’s main dramatic art form through their Manora Dance, Seangala and Li-gaa Hulu.
The Asian cultural performance is part of the KCC’s 2019 Ari Project Season 6: Performing Arts Series, which features a rich program of various performing arts programs including Asia’straditional music and dance, modern fusion world music, jazz, musical, as well as theater. END
