PH Consulate General in Chicago Calls for Renewed FilCom Synergy to Support New Filipino Immigrants

CHICAGO 06 September 2019 – A call for Filipinos in the Midwest to synergize efforts toward supporting underserved kababayans, especially those arriving and starting a new life, was echoed in a consultation meeting by Labor Attache Angela Librado-Trinidad with the various Filipino-American community organizations at the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago on 23 August 2019.
Attendees are the Filipino Heritage Foundation from Omaha in Nebraska, Filipino American Community Council of Michigan (FILAMCCO), and Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE) Chicago.
At the same time, Filipino-American Bernard Ramos, Vice President of Educational Perspective – a Chicago-based non-profit public service organization assisting non-US educated individuals in having their education recognized in the United States – signified his interest to cooperate and support new Filipino Immigrants. Mary Carmen Madrid-Crost of Madrid Crost Law Group likewise offered suggestions for collaborations on legal forums on immigration, family relations and other legal issues. END
