BEIJING 01 August 2019 — A total of 52 primary students from Fujian and Chongqing province dubbed as “Little Chinese Ambassadors” visited the Philippine Embassy in Beijing on 31 July 2019.
Organized by the Embassy Business and Culture Net Center, the visit was under the “Ni Hao, Philippines” program which aimed to empower Chinese students to learn more about foreign cultures.
The Little Ambassadors took interest in the presentation about the Philippines. Beijing-based Filipino teacher Claire Fababaer taught some basic Filipino phrases and read them the classic folk tale of “Alamat ng Pagong” (Legend of the Turtle) by Segundo D. Matias, Jr.
As a return of appreciation, the Chinese students did a rendition of the documentary "Amazing China", sang and danced using traditional Chinese musical instruments, and gave a showcase of Chinese calligraphy.
The Embassy’s goal to improve the people-to-people exchange through such cultural events promote a greater appreciation of the Filipino-Chinese relations. END
