TOKYO 10 September 2019 — As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, in partnership with the Filipino Friendship Isesaki headed by Rodolfo Dela Vega, conducted its two-day consular outreach mission in Gunma on 24 to 25 August 2019.
During the two-day mission, the six-member consular outreach team processed 327 e-Passport applications and 18 civil registration and notarial services.
Passport applicants commended the Embassy for the outreach service as they were able to save at least US $200 each for travel expense to Tokyo.
Gunma is a prefecture in the Kanto region located 138 kilometers from Tokyo and is home to more than 8,000 Filipinos. The Embassy will conduct its next consular missions in Hokkaido on 14 September 2019, in Nagano in October 2019 and in Okinawa in November 2019. END
