Filipinos in Vienna Convene for Annual Barrio Fiesta

VIENNA 30 July 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Vienna, together with the Filipino Communities in Austria and nearby countries, celebrated Barrio Fiesta on 27 July 2019 at the Sportplatz ATV Liesing, Vienna.

Barrio Fiesta is an annual celebration of Filipino culture, showcasing different Filipino cuisine and delicacies which are not usually available in the area. Around 1,500 Filipinos and guests of diverse nationalities attended the event.

The Fiesta kicked-of with a Eucharistic celebration, followed by the parade of banners of all the Filipino organizations in Austria which was led by the Embassy.

Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Deena Joy D. Amatong represented the Embassy and congratulated the community for its gathering and encouraged the organizations to maintain their good relations with their Austrian hosts.

Barrio Fiesta was spearheaded by the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA). END
