PH Embassy in Paris Receives Coast Guard Delegation

PHOTO: Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro (second from right) received a three-member delegation from the Philippine Coast Guard, who are in France as part of the pre-commissioned crew to sail the 270-type 84-meter long giant Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) on 23 August 2019.

The ship is the largest-built aluminum OPV in the world, and will carry the name BRP Gabriela Silang.

Incoming BRP Gabriela Silang Commanding Officer Commander Alberto T. Ferre (right), briefed the Embassy of the vessel’s recent milestones, the scheduled arrival and training of the 15 sailing crew members who will embark on the OPV’s journey from France to the Philippines.  The OPV is expected to arrive in the Philippines sometime in December 2019.
