DOT, TPB Conduct PH Business Mission to Singapore

SINGAPORE 09 September 2019 - The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) conducted the Philippine Business Mission 2019 to Singapore at Sofitel Singapore City Centre on 16 August 2019.
The yearly event comprised a series of sales presentations, networking opportunities and business-to-business activities with the aim to present the latest developments in the Philippine tourism industry and feature new destinations, products and services, as well as to position the Philippines as an attractive and competitive tourist and Meeting, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibition (MICE) destination.
MICE organizers and hotel, resort, and travel agents met with the Singaporean outbound tour organizers to market their respective unique packages and incentives for foreign visitors.
TPB officials in attendance were Acting Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Marketing and Promotions Arnold T. Gonzales, Acting Head of International Promotions Department – Asia Pacific James Sy and Acting Head of MICE Department – Sales and Accounts Management Division Jasmin Parra.
Singapore has been among the top ten countries of origin of visitor arrival to the Philippines and a large potential market for MICE. Since 2015, an average of 174,500 visitors from Singapore arrived yearly in the Philippines.
International tourist arrivals to the Philippines rose by 7.7 percent to 7.1 million visitors in 2018. END
